How To Prevent Cattle From Entering Farm Plots

Entertainment

In Nigeria, the issue between farmers, cattle and herdsmen is worrisome. Nigeria is blessed with more than 360 tribes among which the largest include Hausa, Fulani, Igbo and Yoruba, to mention a few.

In recent times, there has been issues between farmers and herdsmen which have caused loss of properties and death due to clashes between the two parties when the herdsmen feed their cattle with plants on the farm.

To prevent loss of life and properties, there is now a way by which farmers can prevent cattle from entering their farms even without the presence of the farmer.

This is done by planting melon plant – Cucumis melo around the farm plot (trailing vine in the gourd family (Cucurbitaceae), grown for its often musky-scented edible fruit).

Doing this will prevent the cattle from entering the farm because of the irritating effects on them.
